JOANNE SILVER/Partner
js.silverandassociates@gmail.com

Joanne Silver is the founder and a managing partner of Silver and Associates. She is responsible for the overall operation and strategic vision of the company.

A recruiting professional with more than 20 years of successful experience in full cycle recruiting and business development with a proven ability to foster long-lasting relationships with clients and candidates.  Joanne has the experience to identify her clients' needs as well as satisfying candidate requirements.

Joanne has spent the majority of her career working with the top law firms in Canada and the United States as well as working with many Fortune 500 Corporations.  Her primary focus has been in the areas of executive and middle management as well as administrative support within the areas of law, finance, construction and IT.

She knows that people hire people not resumes and this is where Joanne’s years of experience play a vital role when matching candidates with companies.  She recognizes that companies are not looking for just a set of qualifications that match a job description, they are looking for the “right fit”. This requires extensive face to face interviewing with each candidate, regardless of the role they are to fill.  Her goal is to find out who the candidate is and exactly what their short and long term goals are.

After 20+ years in the recruiting industry, Joanne has learned her work values are the foundation of her success.  There are 5 guiding principles that Joanne maintains: Integrity, Accountability, Diligence, Service and Discipline.  Commitment to these principles throughout her career has been the cornerstone to her success.

LAINIE TESSIER/Senior Consultant

lainie.silverandassociates@gmail.com

Lainie Tessier is a senior consultant with Silver and Associates.  She is responsible for managing the recruitment cycle with both clients and candidates; her focus is on administrative, marketing, and financial services  roles in both the corporate and non-profit areas.

Lainie’s prior experience includes corporate sales and recruitment, as well as a number of years working in the non-profit/charitable sector in fundraising, communications, public relations, event promotion and management.

What motivates Lainie? Why has she returned to recruiting, or corporate matchmaking, 2.0?  From her unapologetically diverse work experience, she has distilled two principles that inform her recruitment practice.  Regardless of field or function: 1) clients require productive and efficient human resources (though the particular job skills vary), and, 2) candidates, regardless of area or where they are situated on the corporate ladder, need to be valued for their contributions (how individuals want to be valued e.g.: financial, increased responsibility, an occasional thank you note, those are the subtle, unique, variables).  Her “job” is to listen closely and observe how those two guiding principles are aligned in each relationship she helps  to foster.  Like any relationship, you deserve the right fit.

Her most pronounced ability is putting the right people together with the right resources at the right time.
